Ola’s Cheapest electric scooter after FAME 2

Ola’s Cheapest electric scooter after FAME 2

Did you know about the unexpected yet an amazing marketing move of Ola. Ola is one of India’s largest mobility platforms serving 250+ cities across India, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. It also manufactures its own electric scooters. The electric scooters made by Ola are one of the top-notch luxury scooters with all new technological advancements.

Recently, as FAME 2 has been revoked there was a huge difference in prices. All the e-scooter brands are struggling to bring the prices as low as it was before but as there are no subsidies on it now, they are not being able to fix a price which won’t bring them in a state of loss. At this point of time, Ola took a chance and made a clever marketing move. That is the reason why Ola is selling at such a high rate.

Ola’s Price Update Strategy

Ola has updated all the prices of their e-scooters and not just that but also announced the prices and delivery dates of s1x series amidst this FAME 2 revokement. Firstly, let’s talk about the prices of existing Ola scooters. Ola s1x’ price was reduced to 85,000 rupees during the discount season, which has been ongoing even after the end of the Fame 2 subsidy. However, its price will increase to 90,000 rupees after some time.

Now let’s talk about the prices of Ola S1 Air and Ola S1 Pro. There hasn’t been any change in the prices of both these scooters, meaning Ola tried not to increase their prices, and now the price of S1 Air is 1,05,000 rupees and the price of Ola S1 Pro is 1,30,000 rupees. Where every brand has increased the prices of all their electric vehicles after the end of the Fame 2 subsidy, Ola has kept its prices the same by offering discounts. It was indeed a great move to increase the sales.

The newly launched Ola’s S1X series, Ola S1X 2 kWh, 3 kWh, and 4 kWh also has a change in prices. They were launched in February and the prices were announced that time included the Fame 2 subsidy. It was also said that deliveries would start from April onwards but due to the unexpected revokement of FAME 2 subsidies brought a change in the plan. Ola took this as an opportunity and reduced the prices that were announced. The price of Ola S1X 4 kWh was announced as 110,000 rupees in February. But now its price has been reduced to 100,000 rupees. Yes, instead of increasing the price, Ola has reduced its price!

The price of Ola S1X 3 kWh was announced at 90,000 rupees during its launch. And Ola has also reduced its price, now it is priced at 85,000 rupees. This implies at a price of 85,000 rupees, you will get two options from Ola, Ola S1X+ and Ola S1X 3 kWh.

Next up, let’s discuss the Ola S1X 2 kWh. When it first came out, its price caught everyone’s attention- they announced it at 80,000 rupees. Since the subsidy was gone, people thought the price might go up. But Ola surprised everyone by lowering it even more, now it’s just 70,000 rupees. This makes Ola S1X 2 kWh, Ola’s most affordable electric scooter. With all its advanced features, it’s a smart marketing move for sure.

Ola had the option to increase the prices of its scooters like all other brands did. Or They also had an option to keep the prices same as Ola S1 Pro and Ola S1 Air. But as always, Ola has shown unexpectedness and reduced the prices of the scooter even lower than at the time of launch.

Ola didn’t compromise on warranty either. They promise that all their scooters, part of the S1X series, will have an 8-year or 80,000 km warranty. But there’s something to note that you can’t extend this warranty for the Ola S1X 2 kWh model. However, you can extend the battery warranty for all other models to 125,000 km. In addition, the upcoming S1X series from Ola will support all of Ola’s hyper chargers i.e. fast chargers.

Now, let’s address the eagerly awaited question: when will the deliveries start?

Ola has clearly stated that deliveries will start from next week. Which means the people who have already booked will start receiving deliveries. By the way, now while booking, the delivery date shown on their website is the middle of June.

In the Ola S1X series, you won’t get advanced display and features like Ola S1 Air. But still, you’ll get a boot space of 34 liters, along with cruise control, reverse modes, and access to the Ola Electric app. Note that the S1X series is the first scooter from Ola to have a physical key. Talking about colour options, all three variants of Ola S1X, just like Ola S1X+, will come with 7 colour options.

At the price of 1 lakh rupees, you’ll be equipped with a 4 kWh battery pack, providing an impressive IDC range of 190 km. This achievement took many by surprise, as it exceeded expectations. Now, all eyes are on the commencement of deliveries to witness firsthand the remarkable capabilities and physical experience offered by the S1X.
